Dark Souls 2: Master of Sorcery Achievement/Trophy Guide
Dark Souls 2: Master of Miracles Achievement/Trophy Guide
There’s a bunch of Miracles in Dark Souls 2 – some of them you can find in the world, some you can buy from vendors, and some are a little more involved. The list below breaks the Miracles down into three categories: Those you purchase, those you can either purchase or find in the world, and those that require something special (covenant ranks, boss souls, etc).

The Great Twitter Experiment of 2013
At some point last night I fell down the rabbit hole of Twitter followers. I found a bunch of seemingly unimportant people with hundreds of thousands of followers. “How did they get that many followers?” I wondered. “What the hell do they do now that they have that many followers?” And so my great Twitter experiment of 2013 began.
Second Impressions: Hearthstone
First Impressions: Hearthstone
Last night I received a magical email inviting me to participate in the Hearthstone beta test. I quickly signed in to the battle.net site and downloaded the new battle.net client. That small download didn’t work properly when I started it. A quick visit to the forums let me know that I needed to update either Starcrat 2 or World of Warcraft, which would update the battle.net files already on my machine, then run the Hearthstone installer. That seemed to work and I started the 1.3GB download of Hearthstone itself. It’s a beta, so I’m ok with that little hiccup.
Crunch, overtime and stress
Over the past week or so there’s been a reasonably sized stink on Twitter because of this tweet:
By the time #Ryse ships for #XboxOne, we will have served the crunching team more than 11,500 dinners throughout development. #RyseFacts
This lonely tweet raised the ugly topic of crazy overtime in game development (again), with all sorts of people chiming in on the situation. I’m a developer (though not in the games industry) and I’ve experienced some crunch, so I thought I’d write up my thoughts here.
Mass Effect’s (almost) Ending
Much has been said about the ending to Mass Effect 3. Some people hated it with the white hot fury of 10,000 suns, other people… uh… didn’t like it very much. Rarely have I seen anyone post that they liked it. That however, is not what I’m here to talk about. Instead, I want to discuss one of the most poignant (in my opinion) few minutes of a video game that I’ve ever experienced.
